2 Cor 5:7 " we walk (live) by faith and not by sight"
Faith is actually R-I-S-K.
Forsaking All I Trust Thee - that's F-A-I-T-H.
I am now reading this book "Growing DEEP in Faith' by Edmund Chan. In chapter 2, he talked about our God who is the God of the Already. The miracle recorded in Joshua 3 - the crossing of the Jordon happened much earlier 'a great distance away" where the water already ceased at a town called Adam. V15 "Now the Jordon is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordon and their feet touched the water's edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up into a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam int he vincinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing dow tho the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over the opposite Jericho.."
As I reflected on my recent KL trip of that DTG miracle answered prayer, I felt I was the 'woman of little faith' . But now I realised that the Lord was also teaching me how to really really walk by faith. To trust that He is the God of the Already! Forget about worries! and all the "what ifs"...
It has nothing got to do with how big my faith is. But rather how big my God is. Though I left S'pore with a heavy heart of no answers for the client, the hopeless situation was uttered unto the Lord with a prayer of "pity him and pity us' kind of heaviness of heart. Yet little did I realise that God has already acted on route on the NS highway. God has already done something. He is already on the move ahead of me. He is already answering prayers. Up in KL, a great distance away from S'pore, the miracle has already begun! Just as in Joshua 3.
Reflections
Why? It was a lesson of a walk of faith in Him who is more than able.
It is also an encouragement to me experiencing His divine power and promise.
Joshua3:7: "..so that they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses"
Joshua 3:10:"This is how you will know that the living God is among you.."
Anyone going through tough times? Think about it. We have Jesus on our side. We are already on the victory side. The battle belongs to the Lord and He has already won for us !
To experience this , we need to take a step of faith and plunge. RISK it. It is worth it.
Had I not make the decision to drive up to KL in the last minute, I would not have experience Him- to know that the living God is indeed among us.! It takes some courage to act, would you too?
