Just watched "GRAVITY" last sunday with a group of friends in IMAX 3D. Reactions seemed mixed but I was thrilled, dazzled and awed . Perhaps of my passion in flights and flying since young.
"Gravity" was kind of a 2-person show - Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Yes it wasn't a cheap movie in the making which took them about 4 years before its launch in Oct 2013.
These 2 astronauts were up in space - doing some repair or research work. The dark place where gravity was zerorised. Float. Space walk.

The normal plane cruises at the height of 35,000 ft above the earth ie about 10,000km. But as many suggested, one gets the astronaut wings when you managed to be above 100,000km above.
As Clooney was doing his space walk around the hubble telescope, he commented that the sunrise view was awesome. I could imagine that. And when he had to released his rope to save Sandra due to the gravitational force, he literally floated into the deeper unknown dark space. The Vacuum. Joke on Gravity: Not good. Not good at all. Here I am working – I believe as you humans might say “my butt off” – and all I get is the kind of disdain you mentioned. Do I ever get thanked for keeping you tethered to the earth? For keeping your atmosphere from drifting off into outer space? Indeed for keeping your earth in it’s orbit around the sun? No – hardly a word of praise.
As I began to reflect upon this movie, I am reminded of the atmosphere layers above earth. It is like the number of heavens - first, second, third heavens mentioned in the bible.Found in2 Corinthians 12:2, “I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows.”
Paul is not saying that there are three heavens or even three levels of heaven. In many ancient cultures, people used the term “heaven” _天堂 to describe three different “realms”—the sky, outer space, and then a spiritual heaven (His throne lies) commonly known as the terrestrial, telestial, and celestial heavens. （Kind of like the chinese movies we often see in the olden day movies..likewise we see the opposite of existence of Hell too 地愈.) Paul was saying that God took him to the “celestial” heavens, as in the realm in which God dwells.

Can you imagine the Lord sitting above the heavenly throne and looking down at Earth - one of the 9 planets (Only one inhabitated by 6bn beings made in His image after the creation of Adam and Eve)?
Picture his feet resting on this planet Earth ? Afterall this was what was figuratively mentioned in Iss 66:1 - Earth = His footstool! Big God, Small Earth, Small earthlings. That is perspective.

Is 40:22" He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers" Can you see that?
The LORD cried out: "Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?" In Is40:22" He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
Do you remember the sunday school song we used to sing..OOhh OhhhOhhhh, heaven is in my heart? 1 Cor 6: 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

There was this scene in Gravity where Sandra went to collect one of her astronauts who was killed when the debris flew by. The space helmet was punctured. The air pressure in space sucked out most of the man's face and left with almost nothing ! Man is nothing but made of water and dust afterall - so fragile against the forces of gravity.
Conclusion
Heaven in not in the space above earth.
The Kingdom of God rest upon us as we become His children as we invited Him into our hearts and declare Him as the Sovereign Ruler of the Universe and of course Earth. He reigns. Just as He made the Earth as His footstool as a show of His sovereignty, likewise in Heb 1:13, He will also make the enemies His footstool . ISON the comet is coming. So is the Son of our Creator God.
God cannot be mocked. Human rights had overtaken moral rights. The world is in a big tail spin. USA Fed gov was shut in early Oct for the first time in 17 years . No money. In big trillions of debt where the ceiling was maxed. Many tourist spots in NYC were closed and Fed workers had their pay withheld - furloughed. This was a bizziare rant from the 48-year old stenographer Diane Reidy in the House of Representatives last Wed 16/10/2013.

Yes, we cannot avoid the debris that would come at us, Life uncontrolled situations that come our way. But we can remain focus at the author and perfecter of our faith - In Him we live and has our being. How do we go about pleasing Him or 'build His house?" Once again, it is not about church building projects on earth. Col 3exhorts us to " Set our minds on things above , not one earthly things" The gravity of life problems may weigh us down. But may we rise above the situation and enter into that heavenly realm above and soar above our circumstances. That weightlessness feelings - for His york is easy and burden light. Come unto Him and He will give us rest. In that stillness, may we hear our own heartbeat. With that ounce of breath that is within us, SING! Praise Him whatever. He inhabits in the praises of His people!
In space we cannot breathe on our own. Sandra panicked when she saw her O2 level was diminishing as time goes. Guess many of us would do the same like her - panic and breathe even faster! LOL ....Ai Zai.... But on this earth, to be able to breathe when we wake up in the morning - that in itself is a Gift from Him. Give thanks! PTL?
