20210518: Crossroads? Bike to TP railway, Awesome views of conservation houses @ Blair, Everton, Duxton roads!

Finally, the stretch from Jalan Kilang off Bukit Merah to Keppel Railway was re-opened again!.

On route towards Tanjong Pagar!
Imagine on the old railway tracks! OOH!

Into Blair Road..Lovely Conservation houses...
Five Footways...
Wall Murals....
Along Everton, Neil, Duxton and Ann Siang roads...

The new apartments towering over the old conservation houses...
What a contrast of the old and new!

Against such big wall murals...

a SAD SAD sight of the above upside down stools and chairs..

Hiding out at CROSS STREET EXCHANGE!
Cos the storm came at about noon!

Reflections

It was kind of surreal that we ended up at this foodmall at Cross Street Exchange.

As we were holing up at this place of refuge, the rainstorm was pounding hard on the rooftop.  The winds were howling and the rains were heavy.
But the mall was quiet as it was the start of the Phase2 Heightened Alert (AKA mini circuit breaker!).  No dining out was allowed. Only Takeaways.

But the lunch time crowd was thin.  Due to the many who stayed at home to work.

This new variant B1617-2 seems virulent.

But I like this stop point name.

Cross Street Exchange !

Biking along this old Railway crossing!

And the verse Jeremiah 6:16 came to mind!
 Very Apt!

What a good reminder! Amen!

And I learnt a new song !
The long black train!

Long Black Train

There's a long black train
Coming down the line
Feeding off the souls that are lost and crying
Rails of sin only evil remains
Watch out brother for that long black train
Look to the heavens
You can look to the skies
You can find redemption
Staring back into your eyes
There is protection and there's peace the same
Burnin' your ticket for that long black train
'Cause there's victory in the Lord I say
Victory in the Lord
Cling to the Father and his holy name
And don't go riding on that long black train
There's an engineer on that long black train
Making you wonder if your ride is worth the pain
He's just a waitin' on your heart to say
Let me ride on that long black train
But you know there's victory in the Lord I say
Victory in the Lord
Cling to the Father and…

20210504- Stung by a bee or wasp? At Pierce Reservoir!

Ever been stung by a bee before?

Guess, in life there will always be a FIRST for everything... like a bee sting!

The first sting hurts yes.

Didn't realise it can be that bad until 4am the next day where I got up in itch!

The sting hole was evident and the red patch grew bigger. LOL.

Had forgotten my first aid! Anyway, applied bicarbonate and vinegar and the chinese green grass medicine that i could find at 4am in the morning!

That was 5/4/2021.

And thanks to the natural healing abilities given by Creator God.

by 12/5/2021, 7 days later, the itch was gone and the skin became normal.

Reading Luke 4

I am often amazed reading all the healing stories in the bible by Jesus.

Dr Luke wrote how Jesus healed Simon's mother in law and those with ailments (came on their own or brought by others)

Just one hand placement.  No medication perhaps.

And demons screamed and left.

When I was stung by that little fellow, many were concerned about the 'Poison" injected.

But deep in my heart, I had the peace.  It was the itch that was troubling.  But i know in good time, the healing will take place .  Our body is wonderfully created by Him.
