20120625: PSI? Clouds! Rev1:7 Behold he comes with clouds! What is your PSI?

Rev 1:7
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Haze Down!
For the past one week,  little red dot was under a haze invasion from fires started in Sumatra. By 21/6/2013, our PSI reading was a high hit of 401! But on Sunday, Muar in Johor was badly hit of above 700! Red dot was ok by then but apparently the winds shifted northwards.

Just realised the importance of CLOUDS. You see, the planes and the salt were ready to create artificial rain in Indonesia. But what was needed was still some clouds for the seeding to work. And there were no clouds.

Do you remember the story of Elijah in 1 King 18? Elijah called his servant Ahab to look towards the sea 7 times at top of Mount Carmel? At the 7th time Ahab reported " Behold there arise a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand" The rest was history. The miracle of rain came down on the land of Samaria which was having a great famine.

The Word of God has more than 140 references to cloud and clouds.

  1. Covering of  His protection and guidance (Ex13:21 - How the Lord led them by day in the pillar of cloud)
  2. Covering of His glory -clouds and His presence comes together
  3. Covenant of promise of His bow in the cloud (remember Ps105)
  4. His second Coming - in the clouds
Haste Up!
Many had experienced the bad burnt smell , smiting eyes of the recent smog.  Windows and doors had to be closed as all were encouraged to stay indoors. For the clean air that we used to take for granted, pray that many will be now awaken. The song we sing "This is the air I breathe" now seem more meaningful after this haze hopefully. Our very lungs - the processor of the air we breathe in and out every second, our one and only beating heart that will determine when our last breath would be. Give thanks. Free air?

Came across this young man you-tube, Zach who had cancer and just passed on last month 23/5/2013.  Only 18. He wrote this interesting song "Clouds".The amazing thing about Zach's last days here on earth is that he lived them to the fullest and realizes that "You don't need to know you're dying to start living"

So what is your PSI reading?
No, not referring to the POLLUTANTS Standard Index.
Someone shared this acronym " Prayer Strength Index" last sunday.
Thought it was so apt.  The world frowns when the world PSI is high.
However, pray that our spiritual PSI will always remain high and not low on the contrary.
May our prayer incense rise up to the clouds , reaching the heavens - the throne of God, 24/7.
Not about attending a prayer meeting just for the prayers in a corporate united manner.
But about knowing who He is.  He in us and we with Him. That our thoughts will always embrace His ever-present presence every moment of our life while on this earth.
Our PSI reading - should not be measured on a 24 hourly manner or based on a 3Hour average.  Keep it high every moment, every second!
Thank You Lord, for giving us clear skies and hearing our cries last week.
Thanks for asking the angels to shift the winds. But please Lord, spare the Muartians now:(

20130619: Omniscient : Prov 15:3 " The eyes of the Lord are everywhere"

Prov 15:3 "The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good"

Few days ago I mentioned from Jer7:11 that the LORD is watching.

Today the haze condition in red dot had worsened to above the hazardous range of above 290 tonight.  Yes, it is real bad. I opened the glass doors and stuck my head out - my eyes started to smite. The whole outdoors smelled like burnt offerings - worst that the Chinese month of the XXXX.

Thanks to the Sumatra workers who continued to slash and burn their plantations.

Eyes.
Precious eyes.
We don't know how to treasure them until we start to see the blurry environment around us.
We realized how important for us to be able to open our eye lids without feeling the biting air.
Thank God for giving us eyes - the vision to see.
Yet, many times in the bible, the Lord talks about those who have eyes and yet do not see?
See what?
The spiritual eyes that are able to see and reflect upon the physical vs the spiritual.

The sudden haze that had come upon this land is not the cloud of glory.  It is the counterfeit.
But it had affected ALL people from ALL walks of life - both the wicked as well as the good.
Just as the Lord brings rain on both the good and evil.

Can you imagine that our God too has eyes? Eyes that are everywhere? Keeping watch 24/7? But human eyes require about 6-8 hours of closure each day! But not God!

We are all subject to His watch all the time. For the things we have done or not done, in private as well as public. Few days ago, the NSA Prism project was revealed - we are living in a rather scary age where security / gov officers can peeped into our emails, wat apps and many other form of electronic messaging stuff. Yes, indeed we are being watched , not just by God but by fellow citizens or others.

Whatever.
Let us look through eyes of love!

20130615_Omnipresent : Jer 7-11 God is watching

Jer 7:11 " But I have been watching! Declares the LORD"

There seems to be a choking sensation in my throat of late. Perhaps it was due to the overwhelming high temperatures , scorching sun, hazy skies and the raging increase in mozzies that is creating some havoc here on this red dot.

Centuries back, people flocked to America where it was known as the land of the free. The statue of Liberty at NYC stood for what the people fought for.  What is becoming of this little red dot in recent months one may wonder. Every single part of the earth of this land is now dissected, carved out for different usage.  A simple jurisdiction of who 'owns' the land now changes the meaning of legal and illegal depending on whose terms were set by.

We have gone beyond the 5 Cs.  More had been added to this foray. Cameras and chains. No more escape as we turned ourselves into a highly watched state - for better or for worse? Like the ex-CIA Snowden man who is now MIA, hacking and invasion of privacy into another person's details is something one has to contend with in the light of the technological stuff we are now at.

Yes, but we are already being watched by our omnipresent Lord Almighty God, who sits on the throne of heaven as earth is just His footstool. Our actions, our motives, our hearts and minds - yea, He sees. But to be watched by another group of humans is perhaps a different story.

The recent trial project below - thank God I am not one of those hawkers! Fancy me peering at the Ipad each morning just to be able to start the day's business? The buzz word of efficiency , productivity, sense of legal ownership or entitlement sounds read good, ain't it? What do you think?

ST 15/6/2013 :To prevent illegal subletting, hawkers clock in - with their mugshots

Face recognition scanner used to prevent illegal subletting of stalls rankles some

When satay seller Mujiman Sertrosentorno sets up his stall at Serangoon Garden Market every day at 9am, he checks in by peering into a face recognition device.
The $1,400 device, about the size of an iPad, is mounted on a wall at the back of the hawker centre. It captures the faces of the hawkers.
The device, installed by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and provided by a biometric company on a free trial basis, is to guard against illegal subletting and ensure that subsidised stallholders operate their stalls personally. There are about 80 cooked food and market stalls at the market.
Stallholders will not be able to enjoy subsidised rentals if they are found to be subletting, in other occupations and not attending to their stalls personally.

CCTV cameras help to fight crime. Singapore Police are using the high tech CCTV cameras to assist them. Low crime doesn’t mean no crime – Safer Singapore, we can all expect more!
The below is the report by The Straits Time on 20 April 2012. The source:http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_790764.html
HIGH-TECH security cameras are being installed in the first phase of a new network that will eventually extend across the island.
More than 10 have been fitted in Jalan Bukit Merah, in a move that will give police a fresh tool to help tackle crime in the estate.
Unlike ordinary security cameras, the new system is designed to capture people both entering and leaving the area.
Residents in Jalan Bukit Merah are hoping that the technology will rid them of the loan shark runners who have defaced debtors’ doors, targeted neighbouring flats and vandalised motorbikes.
Six cameras have been installed in the estate’s carpark, covering four entry or exit points and two stairwells.
The other five are in the lobby and stairwells of a block of one-room flats.
Signs will be put up to indicate that the cameras are run by the police. The devices will not be monitored live. However, if a crime happens within the camera zone, footage will be used to help with investigations.
Unused footage will be kept for a month, then overwritten. The police will be responsible for the cameras’ maintenance.
By 2016, the scheme will cover 10,000 HDB blocks and multi-storey carparks across Singapore.
The aim is to have 300 fitted by May in seven areas, including Bishan, Tampines and Woodlands. These locations were chosen to represent different parts of the country and a spread of housing types, said the police. Existing cameras, which were installed in several estates on an ad-hoc basis from 2002, will continue to operate.
The new network was announced in Parliament last month by Second Minister for Home Affairs S. Iswaran as part of a new police strategy that aims to make full use of technology.
Other aspects of the Community Policing System include round-the-clock access to automated services at Neighbourhood Police Posts and a new unit which will see officers patrolling on foot and bicycles in casual clothes.
