The month of August is here! Our Tennis courts undergoing major repairs and closed for more than 2 months! Will re open in October!

So on 2/8/26, we started our biking again!

1. First time at Jap war memorial up close and personal!

2. BUgis area seemed to be a new hangout for Manu Chinese eateries! Hunan, Sichuan, Chengdu , Chongqing! Oh wow! 😂

20260710 Mui’s First Classical Piano and Opera House Visit

 10/7/26

Ha! Just came back from a Classical Piano Duo performance by the Latsos hubby and wife!

A first to this Zarith Sofiah Opera House @ R&F JB and also a first to attend a classical piano performance!

Thanks to the offer of this free ticket at rm158 each by our PB friend. Attendance was so low that the organizer decided to give out the free tickets to her last min.  So I grabbed the opportunity to have a look at this inside of the Operaj House and also to “appreciate “ classical piano pieces.  I am more into the pop piano but quite fascinated by classical too. 

Guess difficult to entice pp to listen to classical piano now as per Latsos sharing just now.  Whatever, I appreciate their performance of the 4 Hand pieces. 20 fingers on the piano. 😂 Worth mentioning was that they performed the famous Schindler’s list theme song using the 4 Hand 🤚 🖐️ ✋ 🤚 

It has been an amazing 3 weeks. Seen the Teochew Ah Ma on Big screen.  Attended my friend’s music composition for the Queenstown 15min outdoor performance.  And tonite into the Opera house to listen to classical piano pieces!

With this perhaps I think I can apply for the post of the Minister of Culture should the present Mr David decided to step down cos he has no time to watch movies.  I appreciate Ah Beng heartlanders to the socialite class of Chopin & Brahms? 😂

 Happened to read James 1:2. 

Huh? Consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds?

Thinking of my recent AI song “ BRING JOY”

Can joy be pure? lol  PURE JOY?

After my flu jab on 9/6? My little left index finger started “triggering”! It refused to unbend itself unless I used the other hand to “force it” up! Ouch!

Today is 8/7. Almost a mth now. I realised that this little finger has affected my joy of guitar playing! Change of the chords had been affected! Oh no!

I also just realised that when one part of the body hurts? Yah it hurts indeed. Testing of my faith? Is this my trial?

Joy taker? LOL

But guess I need to press on. 

Persevere.

20260704-5 min FFW Queenstown

[what if you had 5 minutes with someone you love?]

This morning 🎵 I was invited by my friend  Carrie to a free outdoor  mini-musical called "Five Minutes" on Saturday, July 4th at Block 48 Stirling Road!

It’s for the community and supported by Musical Theatre Limited for their Five Foot Broadway: Streets of Singapore project, transforming everyday spaces into stages of memory, music, and meaning. ✨

The show was written & directed by Kaylene Tan, stars veteran actor Karen Tan & Dess Fong, with sound by Jonathan Chua. It features two original songs  Carrie wrote for the show!

🌳 Vibe: Outdoors on the lawn, totally casual!

Quite interesting. Wish our weather was less hot though. 😂 rushing back from JB to catch her 11am !

Reflections

On 27/6/26 an old ex neighbours dropped by. We had tea and banana cake with a great Tete-a-Tete. And as usual our little “dog” Roger brought the 80 plus couple great joy and smile! He was just too real to their amazement. 

A little tinge of sadness came upon me as they left. 

Don’t ask me why. 

But I started to reflect and came up with a song in mind. 

I titled it “ BRING JOY”  Drawing the inspiration of my little Roger - He had literally brought much joy to many visitors to our home over the last 5 years. 

But more importantly , I was mulling over my life after passing the 60th mark. I was wondering what I would want to do for the next 20,30,40 years if God willing to allow me to finish this life line of mine. 

This song came about after the sequel of a recent one I did called Cave Song - Life is like a line 

So if life is like a line, what would I wanna see myself moving forward ?

I thought a lot that evening. And I decided to have this as a life anthem motto. BRING JOY. 

And this morning in church as I was listening to Ps M Tho simple but striking sermon , I knew I had to get this song up.  The sermon resonated what I felt in this new composition.  

 The sermon was on Psalm 27 

Ps27:4 What is the ONE THING that we should seek all the days of our life? Is it Our ONE THING or THAT ONE THING?

WE can have 2 types of timing in life  Yes  a SET Time ( like an intended quiet time set aside for Him)  But there is also the PERPECTUAL Time! ( God is everwhere! And so are we aware of HIS Presence all the time?)

“ONE THING have I desired of the LORD , that will I Seek after ; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and  to enquire in his temple”

So I added to my “BRING JOY” - ONE THING!!!

Moving on past my 60th mark on this life line - 

TO make it a life anthem to bring JOY first to HIM and then to the OTHERS  around me - all the days of my remaining life.  TO know Him and To Make HIM known  

JOY is a interesting word  We can still have joy in the midst of trying circumstances  It is that One Thing we need to learn in good and bad times knowing the Lord is always in control of our lives  Joy is different from Happiness  The latter tends to be external created whereas joy comes from within ie internal and not dependent on the circumstances for the emo high  or low  

THe acronym J-O-Y?

It is always Jesus first  Others second and lastly Yourself  

In this order and not the other way round  

So I wanna “ BRING JOY”  this ONE THING! 

TO bring joy to my Father’s face :) and I pray that He will continue to delight in me too! 😂 2 Chron 16:9 and He will continue to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him!
