2. The Pickleball Play Invite

In mid Dec 2021, a few of us decided to pay another second visit with some christmas gifts contribution by some of us. The prayer and the pickleball invite to play!

3. The Praise Offering on Court!

And the Lord gave us a very good Christmas PRESENT with Mdm K coming to our court to meet us on 27th Dec 2021! And she tried and perhaps had some fun on the courts. 

Reflections

Today as the 1st day of 1st month of 2022, I started reading this book "A man of Passion and Destiny - David" By Charles Swindoll - a christmas gift from J, new found pickleball friend.  She is a tam chiak and introduced several great eats around. She is an avid biker too and that kindred spirit was fired and charged. 

So I am thankful to be able to read this book in large print format.  What a relief to my aging eyes! 

If you were to ask me 3 months back, a simple confession here - we went with some fear and trepidation!  But it turned out pretty well instead!

Then came the urging of my sweet hubby.  That we need to make another visit before she moved to her new place. (Tanglin Halt flats had been en bloc years back .  However due to Covid, many residents were delayed in moving into their new flats around Margaret Drive or Dawson) 

So, Christmas in December was thought to be the best time for a second.  So we just did with again not much expectation.  We shared the Love of our Lord besides the pickleball! Pickles was perhaps the APPETIZER  dish.  Our MAIN dish was....

When she appeared in the courts on that glorious Monday, I thought I was served with the DESSERT! LOL!

Yes.  It was a great ending for me on 27th Dec 2021. It was a real JOY.

20211230 - 2021 in review! 2022 Here I come!

The last day for 2021! 

Was given this book only yesterday by a friend at PB court “A man of passion and destiny DAVID”. Started reading at past mid nite. And I remembered my two rainbows captured on 3/4/03 along Farrer and 30/4/04 along margaret river in Perth. 

Guess finally I loved large print books now for my poor little eyes! The verse in the first chapter 2chronicles 16:9 captured my attention.  I had them inscribed in my above 2 rainbows back 18 years ago or so. 

Time flies. God never changes. We change. He never. We fail. He

Never. Someone dies. He never. Something altered. He never. 

Covid came. Then Delta. And on its way now Omicron. The virus mutates and changes.  God never. 

He is the same God. YAHWEH.  “I am the lord who changes not     “

How blessed to know that He changes not. Amen?

Love this in chapter 2. “Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear” Isaiah 65:24

How was your faith walk in 2021? Anything unexpected that made your heart leap with small little incidences? That u and I know what faith really is? ‘That which counts on Him when we do not know what tomorrow holds. ‘As quoted by this author Charles Swindoll. 

May the LORD reveals Himself even more as we step into another new unknown 2022. May His favour increase upon us. As we lift Him up higher, that we decrease. Love Him. Adore Him. More FaceBook precious encounters with Him and His Word. Yeah?

Oh what a Christmas Day! 25th Dec 2021!

Decided to pop by this Lucky Saigon Cafe at Tanglin for a vietnamese food!

Did not expect to walk into a different TIMEZONE that went into the 1950s and 60s and 70s!

It was nostalgic find!

CHARLIE LIM HERITAGE MUSEUM!

 Here's the walk through back to days of kampong! WOO HOO!

Oh met Mr Charlie Lim himself at this studio!

He is in his 60s or 70s? His journey of collecting vintage items started in the 1970s. Upon becoming a commercial photographer in the early 1990s, he began collecting vintage items to be used as props in his shoots.

We have apps that that transform your photo into painting like pictures or even your cute caricature.  But Charlie lim still using an interesting way of freezing his photography exposure by 30sec using a torchlight that goes up and down your body! LOL. Amazing photography work he does besides all the carvings of seeds etc.  

Influenced by his mother. He asked himself "What is the value of money in 20years' time?" and to him, the value of money never stays the same with inflation.

REFLECTION

How true.  Today in little Red Dot, we have lost many of our old history as places gave way for redevelopment.  Flats were built higher. But alas our built up area decreases.  Past old HDB flats perhaps cost less than $10,000 in the 1960s has escalated to more than $1,000,000! 

The number of zeros increased!

But how about our lifestyle?

We may perhaps have gained lots of convenience. Doing things "cheaper, betterer and fasterer".  But how is our body, heart and soul and spirit?

We seemed to have gained more. But yet lost physical health to the other C. (Not cash, credit card, clubs, condo) but Cancer.

We seemed to have the electronic wire up convenience. 4G to 5G. But yet we lose our younger generation to the addiction of e-gaming and bad social media influence.

The Face Time we had in kampong days had disappeared. Many prefer to face time with others despite the humans sitting at the dining table.  Many just now cannot live without it! Not the AMEX card. But that silly MOBILE.

The mobiles - yes great mobility for many now whose fingers never seek to rest a  minute.

IT IS A TAP TAP TAP- SLIDE SLIDE SLIDE WORLD!

Would you prefer to give up the modern tech world to back to kampong days?

There is a big coup outside this Saigon cafe! There are black and white chickens in the coop! YES!YES YES!
