20210401 - Arrival of New Yamaha Keyboard! Why?

29/3/21! Oh Yeah! The Arrival of my New Yamaha P125!
(After a long waitlist of more than 2 months...thanks to Covid Discuption of Supplies!)

BUT WHY THIS NEW KEYBOARD??

I have always admired our Creator God.
He made the universal love language - music in just 7 little notes!
With different tempo, arrangement and beats - this love language gels or unifies the cross culture world of Beings.
The Africans rock.  The Indians shake. The Middle Easterns bellies. And what have not the rest of the beautiful tribal groups on earth.

But music is lost when one of the keys - yes just one note key is MISSING!

It just sounded weird if one note is gone.

Yes, that was what happened to my old keyboard.

One day, the G note just become dumb. It got muted! And then I had to bid it GOODBYE.

A Chord needs 3 notes.  TWO just won't make it.
Some melody needs the G note.  So the melody was not complete.

So yes, it reminded me of the parable of the LOST sheep.  Just one - yes the Chief Shepherd has to leave the 99 sheep in order to find the one which is LOST!

A NEW ONE - given to me as a Birthday present by beloved John

Yeah!!!!!
So now I begin my music making! Tang! Tang! Tang!

What I like most is that it comes with a headphone!
Now I can even practice at NIGHT!!!! YES! Without disturbing any souls with my tang tang tang! (DAY TOO! LOL ....still a lousy player!)

So here is the new keyboard with the song "OH I WANT TO KNOW YOU MORE"....

VS the Cheaper instrument - the GUITAR!

Do you know that the piano is actually also a string instrument?
Just that today modern technology had 'Shrunk' the strings to E type!
So now this piano is SLEEK & SLIM! No more Baby Grand!

TIME TO WORSHIP!!!!

THE King of Kings!

AMEN!

20210329-Woollerton Gate to Gallop Valley -Botanic Gardens

29/3/2021 : Entering Gallop Valley Via Woollerton gate

Got a New White Hito Foldable 22" bike YESTERDAY.
now MY grey hITO Has Company!

29/3/21:
7:30am New White Hito went for his maiden ride!

Arrived at Woollerton Gate in just minutes!

Hey, it is trumpet flowers in bloom all over little red dot now! yeah!

So on this second visit , I decided to capture all the various flowers in Gallop Valley area and the surroundings in the new Gallop Extension (opened early this month)

That COMO adventure area brought back fond memories of our kampong game - Saga seeds! Remember playing with these little red seeds?

Er...This is not DURIAN ok?  It is Chempedak!

The walk via Woollerton into this Gallop Extension is winding but short to the B&W colonial houses.

The good part about this side of the entry point is that you get to gawk at the beautiful Good Class Bungalows along Gallop road!

Ok. Let's have some PERSPECTIVE!
  • No $ at all?- Government rental flats of 450sq ft available for rent at about $110 pm twin sharing.
  • Got some $ and old and single? - 500+sq ft Granny flats -S$160k above...
  • HDB flats - 900sq ft ranging from $350K to S$1mio now depending on location
  • And now...."Mr& Mrs Heido Lo" recently bought this GCB at Gallop Road for a whopping S$42mio!  Yes.  21,639 Sq ft! (S$1940 psf) only recently in Jan 2021!!

So, no $ to buy landed properties?  Just come and GAWK ....Here at Gallop Road...A feast for the eyes! Really! Really!

Oh we rode past RUMAH Malaysia, Gallop Road this morning! Extensive place! It is the Malaysian Association in Spore! Woseh!

Guess not bad for a morning quick exercise of bike and walk!
Complete with a Killiney Breaky at Serene Centre.
If you are a Mac fan - McDonalds!

And if you are more "upmarket" - go for the mexican cafe...or just walked over to Cluny Court for a more "upperty" spreads...

Well, if 'not much spare cash" - BYO! Hot water and 3-in-1 KOPI and roti...sit in the Gardens! Spread your plastic picnic cover!   Muahaha!

Enjoy the moments of time! Yah!

20210323- Enjoying a Walk at the Gallop Extension : Atbara and InVerturret Houses

 23/3/2021 : ATBARA HOUSE
@ 5 Gallop Road
Built 1898

“For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands
Is 55:12

INVERTURRET HOUSE @ 7 Gallop Road

On 23/3/21 :
8:35am : Cycled from Home
8:50am : Arrived via Tyrsall Road to the newly opened Gallop Extension
10:50am : Home sweet home! (covering only the walk to the 2 houses and the internal exhibits) - No time to explore the COMO Adventure park for kids and the Gallop Valley Trail or the OCBC Arnoretum!)

Think they forgot to factor in the bike parking spaces! Pathetic 8 lots only for bike parking!

The walk to the 2 B&W colonial houses was pleasant.
Experiencing the 8 -Ha undulating terrain and enjoying the views of the "British colonial landscape" even though this is little RED DOT!

Gosh , the oldest B&W built more than 123 years in 1898!

Atbara House        - now A forest Discovery Centre
Inverturret House   - Now a Botanical At Gallery

I love Black and White Colonial Huses!!!!!

So beautiful to behold!

What a sight of the vast undulating land!

Enjoy this video!

20210219_Alpha Revisited....Is there more than life to this? Kiss The Rain....

Welcome to Alpha 2021...in COOS
More than 19 years later...on 19/2/21!

I did my first Alpha way back in early 2000s.  Then as facilitators for another 2 -3 rounds.
Helped to do a abridge version of "Jesus Only Way" which was for 5 weeks instead of the 12 weeks Alpha.

Attending this was really a refresher for me this time as I accompanied a friend to this new workshop.  The videos had changed.  some of the topics too.  But I guess the message is still the same.

The first session on 19/2/21 was "Is there more than life to this?"

What a good question to ponder to a new start of the lunar new year of the OX!

The video reminded me of the time when I was in my early 20s when I just started work after graduation from the university.  It was the beginning of my own search for the meaning of life back in 1987/88.  Yes, while I was so thankful to land myself a job as a credit officer in a financial institution, I sank into the routine of "work-sleep- eat- wakeup- eat-work - eat- sleep..." mundane cycle of a person earning her keep and being proud to help to contribute to my parents' family upkeep.

Yes, that year prompted my start of my search " Is there more than life to this?" Muahaha!

Well, it was during this first job of mine that some of my prayers were answered surprisingly.  I wasn't a believer back then.  Yet I did pray to Jesus one fine night due to one of the credit cases that bothered me.  Jesus answered the next morning!  So I thought to myself " HMM...WOW" WOW! WOW! Really? Really?!

Some months down the road, I followed my brother to his church.  And the rest was HISTORY! HIS-Story about Mui mui mui.....He found me and I was found by HIM! Jesus became the author and perfecter of mui's little journey of faith.

Was it kind of "blind" faith?  Trusting and believing in someone called Jesus Christ? Why Him and not Guanyin or Prophet Mohd or Gautama? No.  I think the faith was not at all blind.  I did seek about the reason for my being here on earth.  I did read up about the rest of the other faiths.  In the end, coupled with my own experience of answered prayers, I knew deep in my heart - there is no other perfect man other than Jesus who came on earth to die for my sins so that I can live an abundant life here while on earth.  Before I get my permanent citizenship in heaven according to His timing, I obtained my VISA to heaven! Approved and stamped by the King of the Nations - Jesus Christ Himself! Oh Yeah !

God Is Love

Have you experienced "Love at First Sight or that little tug in your beating heart?"
Have you ever fall in love with someone? or being infatuated with that person?

My quest for the meaning of life led me to this awesome relationship with Jesus.
I had no regrets.
The New testament of the bible was my first getting to know Him in those letters penned by several of His disciples.  Kind of love letters.

God is Music Maker
God Created music in just 7 notes.  I love music.  And I learned the keyboard only in my 40s and 50s.  Late student.  But I am happy with Covid 19 lockdown as I took up this life time PIANO LESSONS with this young man by the name of Zach Evans.  Under his video and methodlogy, I managed to syn my both hands in playing FINALLY!  I did improve.

Here is my latest learning piece - Part 1 of "KISS THE RAIN" by Yiruma (Korean-British)  A classical piece composed by him in 2003.  It is one of his famous pieces.  Awesome music.

"I hope that my music doesn't separate from your lives.  Instead I want it to be with you always, as if it 's the background music to your lives" - Yiruma

Let us grow in tune to Jesus - the music maker of our life!
Our life with Him as the Great Composer, our lives will be filled with
 - the different melody - tones of high and low notes, sharps and flats
- the different dynamics of crescendos and forte
- the different rhythms (beats and tempo or sycopation)
- the harmony of chords and progressions
- the texture
- the timbre...
(our lives will never be static.  It will be filled with joys, sorrows, ups and downs, highs and lows.  There will be a season for everything under the sun.  Embrace Life with Him)

Music is sound and silence.

In the beginning, it was God who spoke into the very existence of life.

So rightly quoted by Yiruma, let us not separate the love of our creator God and us.

Acts 17:28 " For in him we live and move and have our being"
AMEN!

Next time, when you see the falling rain....
Go and Kiss the Rain!
Enjoy!

20210207_ ORION spotted again & A "PERFECT" violinist Grand niece with Mui's keyboard!

Ha Ha Ha...These are not Orions...they are my pineapple fillings!

Unfortunately, they just looked good.
The crust was a bit HARD! LOL!

Here is the awesome ORION time-lapse captured by a friend!

What an AWESOME Orion!
Was at the pool swimming and star gazing...
Then I saw Orion on 7/2/21 so clearly on the PERFECT clear sky!

It was kind of almost PERFECT...that I remembered enjoying  this "Perfect" piece with my grand-niece on an impromptu duet the day before!

And then , shortly after this performance.....my keyboard died on me for the G key ...

Missing a key makes the music sounds weird!

Not sure if you had this experience before?

Guess, it really reminded me of a PERFECT Creator God who knows...

He never misses a single key...

The 7 perfect keys He made to create a symphony...

and the 7 stars that made up ORION as in Amos 5:8

Oh what a awesome sound and sight to behold!

THank you LORD! You are the AMAZING Lord of the Heaven & Earth!
